Dr. Darren Edelist, MD, CCFP, Dip Sport Med (CAESM) is the Director of Medical Services at High Performance Sports Medicine which is located at 2300 Yonge Street, Suite 1604, on the Northwest corner of Yonge Street and Eglinton Avenue in Toronto. Dr. Edelist has expertise in the diagnosis, treatment, recovery and prevention of a wide spectrum of sporting injuries and musculoskeletal conditions. Dr. Edelist received his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Western Ontario in 1999. He completed his residency training in Family Medicine at the University of Toronto in 2001. In 2002 he continued his postgraduate training with a Fellowship in Sports Medicine at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. While in Philadelphia Dr. Edelist worked as a team physician for the Radnor High School Football Team as well as a Division II NCAA Football Program. Dr. Edelist holds the Diploma in Sport and Exercise Medicine from the Canadian Academy of Sport and Exercise Medicine. He is involved in teaching with the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the University of Toronto.
In addition to his position as Team Physician for the Metro Toronto Wildcats Footbal Club, Dr. Edelist is also the Team Physician of Interuniversity Sports at Ryerson University. He is a physician to the Council of Amateur Sport Kickboxing, and is affiliated with several martial arts clubs across the Greater Toronto Area. In the past, Dr. Edelist has worked with Judo Ontario, the Mississauga Ice Dogs, Canada’s National Ballet School, and the Toronto and Missisauga Marathons.
